Imagining the future of homes and cities
Arthur Mamou-Mani contributed to the Samsung SmartThings Future Living Report, published in February 2016. The study brought together architects, a space scientist and urbanists to explore how the places where we live and work might change over the following century.
The report considers taller buildings, underground development and underwater cities as possible responses to pressure on space and resources. It also explores how 3D printing could change the production of homes and furniture, alongside more adaptable, connected interiors.
These ideas are speculative scenarios rather than completed projects. They frame questions about the relationship between architecture, technology and everyday life.
